Application Specific Product Group (ASP) is the largest segment of STM (54.0% of revenues in the first nine months of 2007), and is responsible for the design, development and manufacture of application-specific products using advanced bi-polar, CMOS, BiCMOS mixed signal and power technologies. This group is comprised of three major product lines The new Mobile, Multimedia & Communications (MMC) Products, the Computer Peripherals Products (CPP), and The Automotive Products (APG). The MMC group chip sets that are used in wireless and consumer applications, home entertainment and home video devices, cable and IP solutions, audio devices, and communications infrastructure. The CPP group offers chip solutions specializing in data storage, printing, and microfluidics. The APG's products consist of alternator regulators, airbag controllers, anti-skid braking systems, ignition circuits, and engine management, and others.

Industrial and Multi-Segment Group (IMS) (31.6% of revenues) is made up of the company's Microcontroller, Memories and Smartcards Group and its Analog, Power & MEMS Group. These groups manufacture standard microcontroller and industrial and power conversion devices groups, along with Power Bipolar, IGBT transistors and RF transistors, along with Smartcards and other products.

Flash Memory Group (FMG) (13.9% of revenues) incorporates all of the company's Flash memory operations, including R&D and product-related activities, manufacturing, marketing and sales, which has been carved out into a stand-alone entity. Its products include NAND Flash and Wireless Flash memory operations.

The company's operations also fall into two different areas: Semiconductors and Subsystems. In the Semiconductors area, STM designs and manufactures a broad range of products, including discrete memories and standard commodity components, application-specific integrated circuits, full custom devices and semi-custom devices, and application-specific standard products for analog, digital, and mixed-signal applications. In the Subsystems area, STM designs and manufactures subsystems and modules for the telecom, automotive, and industrial markets, including mobile phone accessories, battery chargers, ISDN power supplies, and in-vehicle equipment for electronic toll payment.
