- Consistency in the layout
- ex : in Nuveen_Select_Tax_Free_Income_Portfolio_(NXP), news are on right-side,in Open_Source, news on the left-side
- maybe a live streaming column with less text (140 or 160 car like twitter) would be more effective more the visitors (avatar at the beginning of the line)
- I like text contents associated with data, data comparation with the competitors, the different chapters (companies...money school), my updated portfolio, the news
- line "company, concepts, commodities..." : put it below the advert, close to Analysis, Summary and so on
- Quote and News always in the same place
- Your advert about your Data analysis is masking "wiki analysis ---edit"
- Recent Changes MUST appear on every page (where is the rss feed button?)
- The bottom of the page is surprising as Wikinvest in the Press IS NOT a link nor the following icons, partners center is not a link...
- in Edit mode why do you suppress the "inside link" button?
- I liked more the previous right-hand column with all my stuff
- Maybe would be convenient to add a tool like "AddThis" to ease the way users share wikinvest through their social network.
- Finance-passionate bloggers had to be present in the News column.
- News box as a widget, see http://www.engadgeteer.com/2009/07/recent-posts-widget-with-thumbnails.html
Jack's Comment Suggestion
With the changes made concerning the depth of the Data now displayed for each company I am assuming that Wikinvest's objective is to be a "go to" site for stock research and stock picking. My remarks are made with that assumption.
The new data display is excellent. As a data "geek" I like the way one can put the cursor over a data column and see a chart. Nor does one need to go to Edgar to obtain in depth data on a company.
However, it appears there is no data discernment, that is, no piece of data is more important than the other. Unless one is a data "geek" or an accountant most of the data dsplayed overwhelms the real important data. There are key data points that are more important than much of the data displayed and should be displayed: e.g. earnings per share isn't anywhere to be found.
What a company has done and is doing is great but more important is a look at what they will be doing. Suggest a place for estimates with columns for estimates of what future earnings, revenue, cash flow, dividends, etc might be 1year out, 2years out, 5 years out.
